What is the RSA 21 / MVAS training?

The RSA training – also known as MVAS training, RSA certificate course, RSA seminar or work-zone traffic safety training – teaches the specialist knowledge required by law for securing work zones on public roads. It is based on the German guidelines for securing work zones on roads (RSA 21) and the MVAS 99 code of practice, which defines the knowledge required of responsible persons and site personnel.

At RSAschule1 you complete the entire theory online and then attend a practical day with an exam on site. After passing, you receive your RSA certificate according to MVAS and your RSA ID card.

Who needs the RSA training?

Anyone responsible for securing work zones on roads or setting up traffic barriers – site managers, foremen, supervisors, crew leaders and traffic marshals in road construction, civil engineering, sewer and pipeline construction and landscaping, as well as at municipalities, utilities and traffic-management companies.

Muss ich die Theorie vor dem Praxistag abschließen?
Ja. Die Online-Theorie muss vor dem Praxistag vollständig absolviert sein. Am Praxistag bauen Sie Absicherungen nach Regelplan auf, legen die theoretische und praktische Prüfung ab und erhalten nach bestandener Prüfung Ihr RSA-Zertifikat und Ihren RSA-Ausweis.
Brauche ich Vorkenntnisse?
Nein. Die Schulung ist für Einsteiger geeignet. Sie lernen alle nötigen Grundlagen in der Online-Theorie und vertiefen sie am Praxistag mit erfahrenen Ausbildern. Praktische Erfahrung im Straßen- oder Tiefbau ist hilfreich, aber keine Voraussetzung.
Für wen ist die RSA-Schulung Pflicht?
Das Merkblatt MVAS 99 verlangt nachgewiesene Fachkenntnisse von allen, die Arbeitsstellen an Straßen verantwortlich sichern (Bauleiter, Poliere, Vorarbeiter, Kolonnenführer) sowie von den Ausführenden, die Absperrungen aufbauen, warten und kontrollieren. Straßenverkehrs- und Straßenbaubehörden verlangen den Nachweis in der verkehrsrechtlichen Anordnung nach § 45 StVO und in Ausschreibungen.
Ist das RSA-Zertifikat bundesweit anerkannt und wie lange gilt es?
Die Schulung richtet sich nach der RSA 21 und dem Merkblatt MVAS 99 und wird bundesweit von Behörden und Auftraggebern anerkannt. Ein festes Ablaufdatum gibt es nicht; viele Auftraggeber verlangen jedoch aktuelle Nachweise, und die MVAS empfiehlt regelmäßige Fortbildung. Üblich ist eine Auffrischung alle drei bis fünf Jahre – bei uns komplett online.
Welche Arbeitsstellen deckt die Schulung ab?
Die Schulung behandelt alle Teile der RSA 21: innerörtliche Straßen (Teil B), Landstraßen (Teil C) und Autobahnen (Teil D) – jeweils für Arbeitsstellen längerer und kürzerer Dauer, Tages- und Wanderbaustellen. Sie lernen die passenden Regelpläne, Verkehrszeichen, Verkehrseinrichtungen und Sicherheitsräume kennen und anzuwenden.
